♻️ Vons vs. Sprouts: Which Bag Makes the Better Scrubber?

I used to think plastic was plastic.

Then I looped two bags—Vons and Sprouts—and suddenly, I had opinions. Way too many opinions.

Round 1: Vons

• Stronger. Stretchier. Forgiving when looping.

• Slightly thicker strips made the plarn feel bouncier (in a good way).

Round 2: Sprouts

• Felt great at first. Soft. Smooth.

• But under tension? Instant emotional breakdown.

• Bonus chaos: some strips shredded mid-roll and had to be gently laid to rest.

To be clear: these bags weren’t built for yarn life.
But that’s kind of the fun part.

Money Breadcrumb:
These tests help me figure out what bags deserve a spot in future kits. If it loops clean, it stays. If it shreds mid-stretch? It’s out. I’m not sending out scrubbers made from sadness.

💡Pro Tip (From a Beginner)

Test before you commit.
If it shreds while looping, it’s dead to me—even if the branding says “eco.”

One Last Tangle

Next week I’m testing Walmart bags.
They feel like they'd hold up... but so did that last spaghetti bag from Sprouts.
